nina ricci, pre-fall 2012 collection

I apologize for the double post on Nina Ricci, especially because it is likely your blog feeds are inundated with photos of her pre-fall collection… but I couldn’t resist. The pink chiffon, leopard elements, and military accents wiled me– and I had no choice in the matter, really. Which look is your favorite?

reem acra pre-fall 2012

It’s no secret that I am a huge sucker for all things involving sequins, lace, or leather. Thus, it comes as no surprise that I am thoroughly enamored by the Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2012 collection which combines all three! While it’s uncharacteristic of me, I am even loving the heavy inclusion of forest green and maroon in the collection! I’m glad to see that my three favorite 2011 trends aren’t going anywhere in 2012…

One of my favorite lesser-known designers is Honor (designed by Giovanna Randall.) While her fall 2011 collection had a decidedly 70’s aesthetic, her pre-fall 2012 collection had a bit more of a 60’s modish vibe. Pairing hot pink with vibrant red, peplum galore, and voluminous skirts in a multitude of fabrics—there is no way you could go wrong in my book! And the minimalistic gold cuffs and 40’s style Rita Hayworth waves paired with bold lips just serve as icing on the cake. J’adore!

christian dior spring 2012

After what seems like years of either androgynous or bohemian-inspired looks ruling la monde du mode, it seems as though ladylike elegance is packing a strong punch for Spring 2012. This is particularly exemplified in Christian Dior’s Spring 2012 RTW Collection, which seemed to go back to its classic origins (doubtless in part due to the Galliano controversy earlier this year.) Regardless, I have always been a huge fan of Dior’s ability to create classy and timeless pieces that incorporate modern elements in shape and construction (cases in point: the leather skirts, and sheer blouses.) And it certainly doesn’t hurt that wearing Christian Dior feels like stepping closer to channelling Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco…. Enjoy!

In my opinion, as an artist- Elie Saab can do no wrong. Each one of his couture gowns causes my mind to be filled with thoughts of masquerade balls, New York in the snow, and Fairytale endings. Perhaps it is because I cannot handle large amounts of chiffon without getting overly excited, or perhaps it is the beautiful romantic colors that make my heart race. Either way, I hope that one day I will be able to fulfill my dream of wearing one of his gowns in the magical sort of night that can only happen in New York City.

chloé christmas collection

I’m loving the 70′s aesthetic of Chloé’s Christmas 2012 Collection… très chic, non? The bow-tie ballet flats are to die for.

chanel pre-fall 2012

The Chanel Metiers d’Art pre-fall 2012 collection was nothing short of awe-inspiring. A veritable mix of metallics, tweeds, and kohl-rimmed eyes… in my opinion a perfect fusion of Indian and Parisian aesthetics. My personal favorites would have to be the gorgeous draped skirts and the gold leggings…. very tempted to try and incorporate these looks into my Fall 2011 wardrobe.
