A New Beginning

“If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”

After a two-year hiatus from blogging, I am finally back. It seems that within the past week I have had to saw a countless number of goodbyes to things that were no longer serving me–in order to begin with an entirely fresh start where I began, in Los Angeles. Things were finally–decisively–done with the boy who had been my romantic preoccupation for years, I left my job as a stylist at BCBG MAX AZRIA , and I packed up all of the items I had collected through my three years in San Diego after graduating from University.

The lessons I learned were many (which I will delve in to later)– the power of vulnerability, the importance of self-reliance, and the realization that the circumstances around me may change but I always need to stay true to my vision at the end of the day.

  1. Hi Kathryn. First time reader here. I like your resolutions! I hope you make it to Paris. I had always dreamed of France since I was a kid and now I married to a French man, have lived in Paris and am settled in France for the long term. Anything is possible, so never stop dreaming!

I’ve just recently started another project that hopefully takes me closer to another dream, which is to write. I started a blog on France and French vintage and in 2014 I hope to develop and continue to grow toward my dreams. Reach for the stars!

    1. Thank you so much for writing back! How did you end up moving to France permanently? Your blog is beautiful, you’re well on your way to achieving your dream :)

      1. I actually took a detour through Geneva and then Amsterdam (work and studies) and at a certain point, I just made a decision to move to Paris and the rest is history. As a young Canadian, getting a working holiday visa was relatively easy. I ended up teaching English and later even studied lit, cinema and art at a Parisian university that I really admire. Then love happened and now I’m a married Madame :) Voilà!

  2. Thank for the comment on my blog ‘Found it in T.O.’ girl. I just started this blog for an assignment in my University class (Communication, Technology and Culture) and decided it’s actually something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ll be following your lovely blog, and I hope you choose to follow mine too.. lots of good posts coming
